What time is the right time to purchase my gown?

It is that time of the year again! We are getting into the season where new engagements abound, but also one where the coming summer's weddings become a reality...and QUICKLY! In order to ensure our brides the most enjoyable and smooth gown shopping experience, we would like to share with you some strongly supported information:

In general, the best time to begin shopping is approximately a year and a half in advance, depending on what kind of shopper you are. This gives you enough time to see all you need to and to feel comfortable with the gown you have chosen to wear for your wedding! With that being said, if you will be placing a special order on a gown, we suggest that you do so approximately 10 months to a year before your wedding date. As most gowns average around 5-7 months production/delivery time in addition to 3 months alteration time, this time frame makes the entire process stress-free and accounts for any other factors. Other things to consider this time of the year: many dress makers take a month-long vacation in January that can affect lead time, as well as any custom measurements, like hollow to hem or special design changes, that many brides now desire. However, we would like to remind you that Becker's is ranked third in the country for the amount of samples we have in stock, many of which are available to be purchased and taken home the day you try them on. An extra bonus is that in the month of December all stock gowns paid in full are 15% off! In this scenario you don't have to wait a single day for your dress!
